Infrared Moisture Scan in De Ruyter, NY

Infrared Moisture Scan in De Ruyter, NY

An infrared moisture scan in De Ruyter, NY finds water trapped under a roof surface without cutting it open. Wet insulation and wet decking hold heat differently from dry material, and a thermal camera picks up that difference.

On low-slope commercial roofs we scan after sunset on a clear day. The roof has soaked up heat all afternoon, and wet areas release it more slowly than dry ones, so they show up as warm patches on the image. On homes we often scan ceilings and attic decking from the inside, where a leak shows as a cool spot as the moisture evaporates.

Infrared is a screening tool, and we treat it as one. Every suspect area gets confirmed with a moisture meter, and on commercial roofs sometimes with a small core sample that is patched right away. That step separates real moisture from false readings caused by roof debris, patches or different membrane colors.

The scan is useful for tracing a leak, sizing a repair, deciding between a recover and a full tear-off, and documenting the roof before a sale. Your report from De Ruyter, NY Roof Inspection includes the thermal images, matching photos and a marked plan of wet areas. Call (888) 679-3978 to book an infrared roof moisture scan.
